Where has time gone? I think it just up and flew away, because I cannot believe that it's already December again!
So an update on foster care... I know, it's been a LONG time. And actually, a lot has happened :)
On November 17, we finally finished the dreaded questionnaires and sent them to our licensing worker. Funny enough, I sent her an email something along the lines of
Hi,We are finally done with the questionnaires! Sorry for taking so long on these.
And she replied,
Awesome!!!! Get them off in the mail to me! I will look through your file and see where we are….hoping to schedule a home visit soon!!!!
Which I found extremely funny since I had sent them along with the previous email as an attachment... She quickly realized this and replied,
Geeesh…. Did not even see the attachements!!! Lol………… geeesh….
Our worker is great to work with, and her use of ellipses [....] and exclamation points [!!!!] makes me smile every time I open an email from her.
So we can now check the questionnaires off our list!
Then on November 16, we began exchanging several emails within just a few hours, beginning with our licensing worker asking what sorts of beds we had, and how big the rooms in our house were. She was already beginning to type up our homestudy, and happened to casually throw into the conversation that just that day, they [DHS] received 3 babies to find homes for... 3! Over the course of the many emails that were sent back and forth, it was arranged that she would come out to our house that Friday [as in 2 days later].
Cue freaking out!
Normally people have several weeks to plan for this and to get their house ready... we had 2 days and I worked/had Bible study the entire day [from 7:30am until 9:00pm] in between....
And that's where I'm leaving you at right now.
I know, I'm mean and horrible :P
It's time to get ready for church!
