Check that off the list

Both Tim and I can now check one more thing off of our list of stuff to do before being licensed.  One of the things was to attend sessions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 of 9 total sessions of PRIDE training.

PRIDE Training:
Parent Resources for Information, Development, and Education (PRIDE) training focuses on protecting and nurturing children at risk while strengthening their families -- birth, foster, and adoptive.*

The sessions are:
1 & 2 - Connecting with PRIDE and Teamwork towards Permanence
3 - Meeting Developmental Needs: Attachment
4 - Meeting Developmental Needs: Loss
5 - Strengthening Family Relationships
6 - Meeting Developmental Needs: Discipline
7 - Continuing Family Relationships
8 - Planning for Change
9 - Taking PRIDE - Making an Informed Decision

In our area, all potential foster parents [including people who are taking care of children who are related to them] and many if not all people who are pursuing adoption [once again, even people adopting from relatives, even if they have been caring for the child for several years] are required to take these classes.  Like I said, we need to have some of them completed before licensing, but the rest must be completed within a year and a half of licensure, so we have some time on the rest.

On Tuesday, I attended session 4 [which Tim had already attended on a morning I was teaching] and thus we can check it off!

As far as the Dreaded Questionnaire, we are still working on it.  I have mine nearly done, but don't want to submit it yet until Tim is able to finish his too.  That way we can compare answers and change things if need be.  And he probably won't be able to work on his until after the 31st which is when his last journal is due for class.  So that's where that stands.

Besides this, no other exciting news, so have a great day!
