How big you are: We finally had your 4 month check up today... Well, it was originally schedule for a few weeks ago, but a few days before that you had your first cold, snuffle-y nose and all. So we delayed it until your immune system was a little better. You had three shots today. Although you cried when they gave them to you, surprisingly you settled down quickly afterwards. This afternoon you had a nice long nap and have been drowsy for most of the evening. You weighed in at 14lbs 10oz (48.04%) and 25 inches long (55.18%). They said you are probably settling in at around the 50th percentile for height and weight. This month we also switched all the clothes to the 3-6 month size. It was definitely time!
Memories in the last month:
This past month (between 3 and 4 months) contained the end of our trip to camp to visit with Papa's side of the family that I wrote of last month. This was also the month that you celebrated your first Thanksgiving. First we had the one with Papa's family. Then we had one with your Mama's family. That was a lot of fun! It was your first time meeting your Uncle Glenn, and only your second time with Aunt Sandi and all of their children.
We had a lot of delicious food... although you didn't get to partake in that just yet. In a few months you will be able to enjoy some of it.

The cousins had fun playing games after dinner.
And we made sure to get an updated picture of you with your cousin twin, Maddie.
Then, since we had already celebrated with family before the actual day of Thanksgiving, we were able to get together with Uncle Nate, Aunt Annie, A and E. We cooked far too much food for just the four of us adults and one toddler, but it was a fun day spent cooking, eating, talking and playing games.
You thankfully did well during the day. This was the second actual holiday that you spent with your future best friend :)
We decided to take you out Black Friday shopping the next morning. We debated back and forth because we were not sure there were that many things worth it for us. But if nothing else it was fun to be in the busyness and not have to stress about not getting the things we so desperately were wanting. Our longest stop was at Menards... a favorite store of ours!
Papa gave you a bottle while we walked around.
Then I enjoyed some picture time with you while Papa looked at stuff.
During the days, you enjoy playing on a blanket, looking at your light up piano/keyboard thing, doing tummy time while looking at it, reading books with Papa, or your favorite thing, watching the "light box" [aka, the TV or iPad] while Baby Einstein is playing. Yes, we've occasionally put you in front of that show when we need to finish getting ready for work or something like that... it works, but we make sure not to do it too often.
Major Milestones/Firsts: This month, you had a few big firsts developmentally-wise. You rolled from your tummy to your back. At first I wasn't sure if it could count, but after you did it a few times, I could definitely tell that it was not just a fluke. Also, you started sitting up... barely, and only for a little while (like 30 seconds at a time), but you still did it... continue to do it!
I think that is about all for now. Congratulations on growing up! Although I wish you would not do it quite so fast ;)
